.357 sig ammo

This looks similar to the 40 S&W ammo I have. Are they interchangeable? Sorry I still consider myself a gun newb. :confused_ma:

The 40 will not chamber in 357 sig. The 357 sig will chamber and shoot in a 40...without much effect. If you own a Glock 40, you can also buy an extra barrel or two to shoot all of these. Great versatility...

Good to know. I have a 40 S&W, and just got a .357 Magnum. In my excitement of picking up ammo, I accidentally grabbed 3 boxes of .357 sig and noticed how close they seem to be to the 40 S&W. So just to make sure I am understanding you correctly, I should be able to use the .357 sig ammo in the 40 S&W without a problem or would I need to buy a special barrel for the 40 S&W to accomodate the .357 sig ammo?

You may be able to buy an extra .357 Sig barrel for your .40 S&W...what 40 do you own?

It's 2 different calibers, .40 cal & .38 cal .....the sig .357 is made only for the sig auto, not a .357 Revolver

Re: .357 sig ammo

You CANNOT interchange .357sig for .40 or vice versa UNLESS you own a Glock and have a drop-in barrel for caliber conversion. Also, .357sig ammo is only for .357sig firearms NOT .357 Magnum and vice versa.

I do believe that Glock .40 mags will accept and load .357 rounds successfully but not vice versa.

I can't speak for other firearm manufactures insofar as barrel conversions, but I do know you can buy conversion barrels for Springfield XDs in only the Tactical or Service models.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll just take the .357 back this morning and replace it with .357 magnum like I meant to do the first time. :bear_w00t:
